California Culture Club was born at the intersection of two worlds: culinary artistry and construction & design.

 

After years spent working as a chef, learning the language of flavor, texture, and human connection, I positioned myself in an entirely new arena: project management in construction, surrounded by blueprints, materials, and the tangible creativity of design. On paper, these two paths couldn’t be more different. But in spirit, they were the same. Both were about building whether it was a plate, a space, or an experience that made people feel. It was tangible storytelling.

And in between the kitchens and the job sites, one thread kept me inspired: the culture of California itself.

California isn’t just a state, it’s a living mosaic of cultures, ideas, and aesthetics. Every city has its own rhythm: the surf-soaked calm of Ventura, the creative pulse of Los Angeles, the wine-scented charm of Paso Robles, and the tech-meets-art beat of San Francisco. Together, they form something uniquely Californian, a collective identity built on diversity, design, and reinvention.

California Culture Club was created to celebrate that.

This platform is part travel diary, part editorial journal, and part cultural guide, curated for anyone who’s ever fallen in love with a California sunrise, a local artist, a handmade taco, or an architectural gem tucked along the coast.

Here, we share stories of the makers, the dreamers, and the doers, from the ceramicist in Ojai to the chef in Carmel to the architect in Santa Barbara. It’s about the people who make this state not just beautiful, but meaningful.
